Man Utd vs CSKA Moscow

Today is the game for securing the place in the next round of UCL. United just need a draw from this game to qualify. Granted they will qualify with 2 games in hand and it provided some options to SAF to rest some of his players and give some runs to fringe players. Kusczak, Rafael and Fabio, Wes Brown, Evans, PJS, Owen Hargreaves, Obertan, Owen, Macheda to name a few.

Expect SAF to make some changes from the squad that beat Blackburn during the weekend. Scholes and Giggs will make the 11st eleven. So Nani and Carrick will be back on the bench. I think M.Owen will start alongside Berbatov. Rooney will be on the bench because United have on its mind Chelsea on the weekend. Later in 2nd half maybe G Obertan will have a first glimpse of UCL in United shirt. Valencia will be on right.

At the back, Wes Brown and Johny Evans will continue their partnership from the last game. For me the last game shows that we have enough cover at the back with both of them capable to fill in the shoes of RF and NV. As my previous post, RF will be leaved outside of United squad for this game. This shows that SAF takes his recent demise in forms seriously and it will be sometime before we can see RF again. Evra and O'Shea will have their slot once again.

Predicting 2-0 victory on this one. Berbatov and Giggs will notch the goal.

Man Utd vs Blackburn 2-0

This game was thought to be a festival of goals for Man Utd because of the previous demolition of Blackburn by other 'big' teams but it turned out to be 2-0 victory for Man Utd. But still a victory with 2-0 is as good as victory of 6-0 or 10-0. Your pick.

This game was the first real game for the lads after the loss to Liverpool last week (League Cup doesn't count as a game for them because it was a game for juniors). SAF made some changes for this game and notably the absent of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in the central defense. I must say I am not surprised by this move of SAF particularly with RF. After some major defense errors, he should be left out for some games to make his head straight. He seems to be not fit enough and his judgement failed him several time. Against City, he tried to chip the ball from in front of his opponent. In Liverpool game he can't beat 80% fit Fernando Torres and it was his role that resulted in the sent off of David James during England game against Ukraine. While players are just human and do make mistakes still you must be responsible for your game since you are paid big money. And of course you have to perform as expected of you and your money. There are some reports in tabloids and online newspapers that RF has a lot of things going off the pitch and relate it with his poor performance. This isn't good for him because a lot of downfalls of players are related with celebrities like lifestyle. Just take Deco, Ronaldinho, Shevchenko as examples.

Make no mistake in thinking that SAF will completely snub him for the entire season. SAF has his own way to fix his player. We can expect RF to sit out a few games and even be given some days off from training to take his mind away from the game for some time. But I do think RF will sometime later in his career will leave Man Utd. When you are 'scolded' by SAF in the press, that's the sign from him that he doesn't like what you are doing. At least that's what I thought because SAF rarely will criticise his player in press and when he did, it's not a good sign.

Back to the game. In the midfield Anderson was back partnering Carrick and Nani replaced Giggs. Rooney-Berbatov axis was up-front.

Blackburn was playing negatively throughout the game. They could only muster one shot and that wasn't on target. They really going into the game for a point and was reflected with all-man behind the ball no matter what.

The goal from Berba was a classy one and the reason for his 30 million pounds price tag. But there were some chances that went bagging because of poor finishing. Most notably from Gabriel Obertan. Today he marked his first debut when he replaced Nani after 75 minutes. Looks good but not good enough to be the next Giggsy (time will tell). He missed a very good chance that I thought at that time even my 15 year old sister can finish it. What the h**l and s**t was he doing. But maybe that's god's way not to let him got carried away. Meaning you have to work hard. Time will tell again.

Today A.Valencia was having a good game. He runs, he passed, he crossed he defended and what else do you want from a winger. He still can improve and that's what he's doing game by game. Remembe he is still a new guy most of the new guys in Man Utd got judged only in their second season. So time is still with his side and he just have to prove it. Most notable part of his game that I think needs to be addressed is his over reliable for his right leg. That's a big disadvantage and really make his game backward not forward.

Rooney's goal was a big relieve for me as he wasn't scoring for some games now and the goal was a good one. Hopefully we can see another round of runs-of-goals from him before another round of his dormant cycle.

That's it from me now.

Time for obstetric and gynecology.

One school = 1Malaysia

It seems right now the movement for single stream school in Malaysia is getting the momentum they need. The comment from Prof Emeritus Khoo Kay Kim results in flows of comments and supports from the silent supporters of this idea. Among them are politicians from both side of divide of BN and PR. I really hope this idea is not simply shot down due to their 'weirdness' in Malaysia. Even the prime minister doesn't fully shutting down this idea. When the people want it then shall it be are the words from the PM.

We are still a long way for this idea to be realized. We first should address the oppositions for this idea. More dialogue, debate, conference should be done to bridge the gaps and differences between the supporters and the oppositions. The supporters of SSS should explain to the objectors of the advantages of the idea and also to listen the disadvantages from the other side. The debate, dialogue, conference of course should be done in non-chauvinistic manner with full sense of professionalism and respect. The idea here is to explain and educate and not bashing them. So no extremism here please.

On our side we already have a great academician in Prof Khoo Kay Kim that explains the pros of this idea. Being Han himself, it's good to have him to explain the advantages since most of the opposition are Han. Example of one organization that oppose this idea is a NGO called Dong Jiao Zong. This is an organization that their existence depend on the vernacular school. Of course this is the fiercest opposition of the idea.

In politics, both BN and PR have their own supporters and oppositions. Most of the supporters are from Malay MPs and the opposite applies to the non-Malay MPs. Since that it the case, the Malay MPs from BN and PR should get to their peers and have some consensus for this idea. Because politic is the main obstacle to this idea, the MPs also should make this straight and ask themselves whether they want to divide the people and head for the fail state of Malaysia or unite them in the most uniting way of 1Malaysia spirit.

Finally since there are supports for this idea, I think we should have a public poll to determine whether the majority wants this idea to be pursued or not. Public poll is an election like poll that let people vote for an idea. It's a simple yes or no and it's been done in developed countries for many issues. It's a way for a government to know what the people want and act on it. But of course it should be done when we have the go from the people.
